If you are on this page, my guess is that someone who cares for you is inviting you to our Annual Candlelight Carol Service at First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Since our church community might be new to you, I want to share what to expect and add my own welcome and invitation.
Our 81st annual Carol service is a longstanding local tradition we love to share with our wider Pasadena neighbors. It represents a beautiful mix of gifts from our church family, where we create a liturgy of remembrance and anticipation for the arrival of the Christ child into the world once again. This year our service is on December 8th at 6:00pm in our Sanctuary. We hope you can join us in person, but if you can’t make it, click here to tune into our livestream.
Our parking garage at 150 E. Holly St. is the easiest place to park, and we can validate inside. If you can arrive around 5:45, you will have time to get settled and listen to some beautiful harp during the prelude to the service. If you are dropping off kids with our child care (four years old and under), then for sure get there a little early to get the little ones checked in. The service will last about 90 minutes, and will be followed by a bunch of cookies and cider made by our folks to share with y’all.
Dress however you feel comfortable. Anything from a full wool overcoat and top-hat to an Aloha shirt and slides will belong. Bring your singing voice because we have several congregational carols that need your participation.
I hope you can join us this year for a beautiful, quirky and celebratory evening of music and story in this Advent season. To learn more about our church community, you can click the about us button below. To sign up for updates from our church, hit that update button.
