Liturgy for wherever you are

First Sunday after Epiphany

January 9, 2022

welcome to WORSHIP

Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ.

Lyrics*

At Your Name

Phil Wickham | Tim Hughes

At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out

Lord of all the earth we shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies with endless praise
Endless praise
Yahweh Yahweh
We love to shout Your name oh Lord

At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out

There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing we will sing

There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There is no one like our God
We will sing

Build My Life

Brett Younker | Karl Martin | Kirby Kaple | Matt Redman | Pat Barrett

Worthy of ev'ry song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe
We live for You

Jesus the name above ev'ry other name
Jesus the only one who could ever save
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe
We live for You
We live for You

Holy there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken

Way Maker

Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu

You are here moving in our midst

I worship You I worship You

(You are) Way Maker Miracle Worker Promise Keeper
Light in the darkness my God that is who You are

You are here touching ev'ry heart
I worship You I worship You
You are here healing ev'ry heart
I worship You I worship You

You are here turning lives around
I worship You I worship You
You are here mending ev'ry heart
I worship You I worship You

Even when I don't see it You're working
Even when I don't feel it You're working
You never stop You never stop working
You never stop You never stop working

Credits

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s liturgy service! Chip welcomed us into worship and he, Christopher S., and Jensen provided a hearty dose of gratitude. Leslie led us in our call to worship. Astyn led us in a time of communal prayer before Jeannette read Scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching to feed our spirits and returned at the end to offer up the benediction. Tim L. invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided the offertory. Our other music makers this morning were Leslie, Astyn, and Rick. Leslie oversaw the production while Harriet worked her technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.

Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
