Liturgy for wherever you are
Second Sunday after Epiphany
January 15, 2023
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ.

Who You Say I Am
Ben Fielding | Reuben Morgan
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last
He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
Oh You Bring
Matt Crocker
Oh you bring hope to the hopeless
And light to those in the darkness
And death to life now I'm alive
Oh you give peace to the restless
And joy to homes that are broken
I see you now, in you I'm found
And you opened the door for me
And you laid down
Your life to set me free
All that I am will serve you Lord
Oh you fill those who are empty
And rescue those in the valley
And through it all you calm my soul
Oh you find me in my weakness
And heal the wounds of my heartache
I worship you in spirit and truth
And you opened my eyes to see
All the wonder and awe of Christ in me
Jesus you're everything I need
All honor
All glory
All praise to you
Jesus We Love You
Hannah McClure | Kalley Heiligenthal | Paul McClure
Old things have passed away
Your love has stayed the same
Your constant grace remains the cornerstone
Things that we thought were dead
Are breathing in life again
You cause your Son to shine on darkest nights
For all that You've done we will pour out our love
This will be our anthem song
Jesus we love You
Oh how we love You
You are the one our hearts adore
The hopeless have found their hope
The orphans now have a home
All that was lost has found its place in You
You lift our weary head
You make us strong instead
You took these rags and made us beautiful
Our affection our devotion
Poured out on the feet of Jesus
In the Garden
Charles Austin Miles
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us and called us into worship. Nicole and Jensen invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Chip introduced our Community Clergy Coalition partner Mayra and led us in communal prayer. John Jay read scripture and provided us with a teaching and a benediction. Rene invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, Astyn, Warren, Chris B, Nat, Natalee and Jason E. Chip and John Jay reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Harriet worked her technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
