Liturgy for wherever you are
Luke 6:27-38 | February 23, 2025
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. To listen to previous liturgies, you can visit our Soundcloud page below to browse the archives.
Listening to the Livestream
A little before 10:30 AM you should see a play button (circle with a triangle in it) appear in the box below. Press that play button when it appears, and you should be able to hear the service live! We always start the livestream a few minutes before the service begins, so you may hear some chatter or worship music playing at first. Know that you are with us in Spirit as you worship from wherever you are.
If you come to this page after Sunday worship but before the recorded sermon is posted in its entirety, please come back again! The full recording is posted by noon on Tuesday.

You Hold It All Together
Alton Eugene | Edward Rivera | Elyssa Smith | Garrett Abel | Naomi Raine
You come at the right time
When I least expect it never behind
So why would I be surprised
When You deliver every time
On mountaintops
You stay the same
In valleys low
You never change
And I believe that I will see
The goodness of the Lord
I’m confident as seasons change
Your faithfulness remains
You go You go before me
To prepare a blessing You make a way
It’s more than I could imagine
More than I can fathom or comprehend
God of my present
God of my future
You write my story
You hold it all together
Reckless Love
Caleb Culver | Cory Asbury | Ran Jackson
Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it, I don't deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to me
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
We Are One in the Spirit
Peter Scholtes
We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord
And we pray that all unity
May one day be restored
And they’ll know we are Christians
By our love by our love
Yes they’ll know we are Christians
By our love
We will walk with each other
We will walk hand in hand
We will walk with each other
We will walk hand in hand
And together we’ll spread the news
That God is in our land
We will work with each other
We will work side by side
We will work with each other
We will work side by side
And we’ll guard each one’s dignity
And save each one’s pride
All praise to the Father
From whom all things come
And all praise to Christ Jesus
His only Son
And all praise to the Spirit
Who makes us one

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us, and she and Barbie Ann invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Mayra called us into worship. Chip honored our Volunteer of the Month. Buki led us in communal prayer. Staa read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Chip and John Jay introduced new members. Helen invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Nat provided our offertory this morning. Our other musicians were Leslie, John Jay, Cindy, Dave E, Rick and Scott. Tim and Sally reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
