Liturgy for wherever you are
Third Sunday of Lent
March 12, 2023
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ.
Lyrics*
Holy, Holy, Holy
John Bacchus Dykes | Reginald Heber
Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee
Holy, holy, holy!
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy!
Though the darkness hide thee
Though the eye of sinful ones
Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy
There is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, in love and purity
Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty
All thy works shall praise Thy name
In earth and sky and sea
Holy, holy, holy!
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity!
At Your Name
Phil Wickham | Tim Hughes
At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
Lord of all the earth we shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies with endless praise
Endless praise
Yahweh Yahweh
We love to shout Your name oh Lord
At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There is no one like our God
We will sing
Beautiful Things
Thomas Ken
All this pain
I wonder if I'll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change
At all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground
At all
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found
In You
You make me new You are making me new
You make me new You are making me new
Doxology
Thomas Ken
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us. Jensen and Nicole invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Gaby called us into worship. Stormie led us in communal prayer. Tariq read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Deborah invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided the offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Natalee, Jason E, Halle, Chris T, and the FBCP Choir. Chip reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Michael worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
