Liturgy for wherever you are
Luke 20:19-26 | March 23, 2025
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. Praise to the Lord the Almighty
Catherine Winkworth | Christy Nockels | Joachim Neander | Nathan Nockels
Praise to the Lord
The Almighty the King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear
Now to His temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration
Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
Yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth
Praise to the Lord
Who doth prosper thy work
And defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy
Here daily attend thee
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee
Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly forever we adore Him
Steadfast
Sandra McCracken
I will build my house whether storm or drought
On the rock that does not move
I will set my hope in your love, O Lord
And your faithfulness will prove
You are steadfast, steadfast
By the word you spoke all the starry host
Are called out by name each night
In your watchful care I will rest secure
As you lead us with your light
I will not trust in the strength of kings
On your promise I will stand
I will shout for joy, I will raise my voice
Hallelujah to the Lamb!
In the moment of emptiness all was fulfilled
In the hour of darkness Your light was revealed
In the presence of death Yout life was affirmed
In the absence of holiness, You are still God
All Ye Refugees
Chelsey Scott | Flo Paris | Kellie Haddock
I am the One, the earth is my handmade work
The skies, I laid them wide, beauty unfurled
Horizon to horizon, creation to creation, sings you home
Welcome home, gather 'round
All ye refugees, come in
Welcome home, gather 'round
All ye refugees, come in
Oh, refugee, I did not cast you out
In death and broken ground, salvation springs
My body and my blood, the healing that you need
Come and receive
Watch and wait and see
What is yet to be
Watch and wait and see
For the morning
Nothing I Hold Onto
Will Reagan
I lean not on my own understanding
My life is in the hands of the maker of heaven
I give it all to You God
Trusting that You'll make
Something beautiful out of me
I will climb this mountain
With my hands wide open
There's nothing I hold onto
There's nothing I hold onto
Doxology
Thomas Ken
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Charles welcomed us, and he and Jason E invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Judy called us into worship. Brian led us in communal prayer. Saskia read scripture. Jason E provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Rich invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Riley, Paul, Tilli, Chris M, Rick and Scott. Saskia and Zach reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
