Liturgy for wherever you are
Palm Sunday
April 10, 2022
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ.
Lyrics*
O Worship the King
Johann Michael Haydn | Robert Grant | Chris Tomlin
O worship the King all glorious above
O gratefully sing His wonderful love
Our Shield and Defender the Ancient of Days
Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise
O tell of His might O sing of His grace
Whose robe is the light and canopy space
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm
You alone are the matchless King
To You alone be all majesty
Your glories and wonders
What tongue can recite
You breathe in the air
You shine in the light
O measureless might ineffable love
While angels delight to worship above
Thy mercies how tender how firm to the end
Our Maker Defender Redeemer and Friend
Shine in the light
You shine in the light
King of My Heart
John Mark McMillan | Sarah McMillan
Let the King of my heart
Be the mountain where I run
The fountain I drink from
Oh He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the shadow where I hide
The ransom for my life
Oh He is my song
You are good good oh
You are good good oh
You are good good oh
You are good good oh
Let the King of my heart
Be the wind inside my sails
The anchor in the waves
Oh He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the fire inside my veins
The echo of my days
Oh He is my song
You're never gonna let
Never gonna let me down
You're never gonna let
Never gonna let me down
You're never gonna let
Never gonna let me down
You're never gonna let
Never gonna let me down

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s Palm Sunday service! John Jay welcomed us and led us in an opening prayer. Chip let us know about all the many ways we can be involved in communal life together. The FBCP Choir and the Children’s Choir shared special music with us. Natalee led us in communal prayer. John Jay provided us with a teaching to feed our spirits, invited us into a time of generosity through our offering, and returned at the end to offer up the benediction. Paul provided the offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Astyn, Rick, and Chris. Leslie oversaw the production while Harriet worked her technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
