Liturgy for wherever you are
EASTER SUNDAY @11am | Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen, Indeed!
Luke 24:1-12 | April 20, 2025
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. To listen to previous liturgies, you can visit our Soundcloud page below to browse the archives.
Listening to the Livestream
A little before 11:00 AM you should see a play button (circle with a triangle in it) appear in the box below. Press that play button when it appears, and you should be able to hear the service live! We always start the livestream a few minutes before the service begins, so you may hear some chatter or worship music playing at first. Know that you are with us in Spirit as you worship from wherever you are.
If you come to this page after Sunday worship but before the recorded sermon is posted in its entirety, please come back again! The full recording is posted by noon on Tuesday.

Crown Him With Many Crowns
Matthew Bridges | Godfrey Thring | George J. Elvey
Crown Him with many crowns
The Lamb upon His throne
Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own
Awake my soul and sing
Of Him who died for thee
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity
Crown Him the Lord of love
Behold His hands and side
Those wounds yet visible above
In beauty glorified
All hail Redeemer hail
For thou hast died for me
Thy praise and glory shall not fail
Throughout eternity
Crown Him the Lord of life
Who triumphed o’er the grave
Who rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save
His glories now we sing
Who died and rose on high
Who died eternal life to bring
And lives that death may die
Crown Him the Lord of heaven
One with the Father known
One with the Spirit thro’ him given
From yonder glorious throne
To Thee be endless praise
For Thou for us hast died
Be Thou O Lord thro’ endless days
Adored and magnified
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
Charles Wesley | Samuel Arnold
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and Heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once, He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee
Edward Hodges, Henry Van Dyke, Ludwig van Beethoven
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee
Hail Thee as the Son above
Joy in my soul, joy in my soul
Joy in my soul, joy in my soul
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee
Hail Thee as the Son of love
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day!
All Thy works with joy surround Thee
Earth and heaven reflect Your rays
Stars and angels sing around Thee
Center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
Flow’ry meadow, flashing sea
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Praising You eternally!
This Little Light of Mine
Harry Dixon Loes | David Wakerley | David Ware
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Even when I’m afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I’m afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I’m afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s Easter service! John Jay welcomed us. Leslie and Riley oriented us for singing. John Jay led us through the baptisms of Hannah and Frankie. Chip led us in congregational prayer. Lindsay read our scripture. John Jay provided our teaching and offered a benediction. Andrew invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, Paul, Riley, Jonathan, Mitch, Rick, Chris B, the FBCP Choir and the FBCP Handbell Choir. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
