Liturgy for wherever you are
Luke 24:13-32 | April 27, 2025
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. To listen to previous liturgies, you can visit our Soundcloud page below to browse the archives.
Listening to the Livestream
A little before 10:30 AM you should see a play button (circle with a triangle in it) appear in the box below. Press that play button when it appears, and you should be able to hear the service live! We always start the livestream a few minutes before the service begins, so you may hear some chatter or worship music playing at first. Know that you are with us in Spirit as you worship from wherever you are.
If you come to this page after Sunday worship but before the recorded sermon is posted in its entirety, please come back again! The full recording is posted by noon on Tuesday.

Nothing But the Blood
Robert Lowry
What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my pardon this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
All Ye Refugees
Chelsey Scott | Flo Paris | Kellie Haddock
I am the One, the earth is my handmade work
The skies, I laid them wide, beauty unfurled
Horizon to horizon, creation to creation, sings you home
Welcome home, gather 'round
All ye refugees, come in
Welcome home, gather 'round
All ye refugees, come in
Oh, refugee, I did not cast you out
In death and broken ground, salvation springs
My body and my blood, the healing that you need
Come and receive
Watch and wait and see
What is yet to be
Watch and wait and see
For the morning
Down In the River to Pray
Crowns of Creation Ministries Corp
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord show me the way
O sisters let's go down
Let's go down come on down
O sisters let's go down
Down in the river to pray
O brothers let's go down
Let's go down come on down
O brothers let's go down
Down in the river to pray
O fathers let's go down
Let's go down come on down
O fathers let's go down
Down in the river to pray
O mothers let's go down
Let's go down come on down
O mothers let's go down
Down in the river to pray
O family let’s go down
Let’s go down
O family let’s go down
Down in the river to pray
Have Mercy
Sandra McCracken | Thad Cockrell
Have mercy on me
Have mercy on me
O Lord have mercy
O Lord have mercy
Oh help my unbelief
Oh help my unbelief
O Lord have mercy
O Lord have mercy
Hmm
Hmm hmm
Hmm hmm
Have mercy
Have mercy

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us, and she and Andrew invited us into a practice of shared gratitude. Bri called us into worship. Riley oriented us for worship through song. Chip thanked our wonderful board. Greta offered a communal prayer. Tariq read our scripture. John Jay provided our teaching and offered a benediction. Lindsay invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Riley, Paul, Judah, Natalee, John Jay, Jason E, and Chris T. Chip and Lindsay reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
