Liturgy for wherever you are

Fourth Sunday of Easter

April 30, 2023

welcome to WORSHIP

Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. At Your Name

Phil Wickham | Tim Hughes

At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out

Lord of all the earth we shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies with endless praise
Endless praise
Yahweh Yahweh
We love to shout Your name oh Lord

At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out

There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing

There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There is no one like our God
We will sing

Oh You Bring

Matt Crocker

Oh you bring hope to the hopeless
And light to those in the darkness
And death to life now I'm alive

Oh you give peace to the restless
And joy to homes that are broken
I see you now, in you I'm found

And you opened the door for me
And you laid down
Your life to set me free
All that I am will serve you Lord

Oh you fill those who are empty
And rescue those in the valley
And through it all you calm my soul

Oh you find me in my weakness
And heal the wounds of my heartache
I worship you in spirit and truth

And you opened my eyes to see
All the wonder and awe of Christ in me
Jesus you're everything I need

All honor
All glory
All praise to you

All the Poor and Powerless

David Leonard | Leslie Jordan

All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely
And all the thieves will come confess
And know that You are holy
And know that You are holy

And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

All the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy

Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God

Doxology

Thomas Ken

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Chip welcomed us. Tim invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Nori called us into worship. John Jay led Ruthie through the waters of baptism. Lindsay led us in communal prayer. Kristy read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Vivian invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided the offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Astyn, Rick, Chris T, and the FBCP Choir. John Jay reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Michael worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.

Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
