Liturgy for wherever you are

Sixth Sunday of Easter | Romans 15:1-13

May 14th, 2023

welcome to WORSHIP

Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. He is Faithful

Eleanor Henrietta Hull | Mary Elizabeth Byrne | Ascend the Hill

Bryan Torwalt | Katie Torwalt

I have heard a sound coming on the wind
Changing hearts and minds healing brokenness
I feel a generation breaking through despair
I hear a generation full of faith declare

And our song it will be
Out of the darkness we will rise and sing

He is faithful He is glorious
And He is Jesus and all my hope is in Him
He is freedom He is healing right now
He is hope and joy love and peace and life

I have seen a light like the break of dawn
Giving blind men sight and letting lame men walk
I see a generation with resurrection life
We are a generation filled with the power of Christ

He has paid the highest price
He has proven His great love for us
We will praise Him with our lives
And proclaim our love for Him
And proclaim our love for Him

All Creatures of Our God and King

Brent Milligan | David Crowder | St. Francis of Assisi | William Henry Draper

All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise Him alleluia
Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in Heav'n along
O praise Him alleluia
Thou rising moon in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Let all things their Creator bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him alleluia
Praise praise the Father praise the Son
And praise the Spirit three in One
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Waiting Here For You

Chris Tomlin | Jesse Reeves | Martin Smith

If faith can move the mountains
Let the mountains move
We come with expectation
Waiting here for You
Waiting here for You

You’re the Lord of all creation
And still You know my heart
The Author of salvation
You’ve loved us from the start

Waiting here for You with our hands
Lifted high in praise
And it’s You we adore
Singing alleluia

You are everything You’ve promised
Your faithfulness is true
We’re desperate for Your presence
All we need is You

Singing alleluia alleluia

Doxology

Thomas Ken

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us, and she and Steven L invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Saskia called us into worship. Brandon led us in communal prayer. Michael H read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Esther C invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided the offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Astyn, Halle, Ainsley, Tilli, Rick, Chris T, and the FBCP Choir. John Jay and Chip reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Abbey worked her technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.

Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
