Liturgy for wherever you are

Guiding Principles Series: Inclusive Belonging | Ephesians 2:13-22

June 30, 2024

welcome to WORSHIP

Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. To listen to previous liturgies, you can visit our Soundcloud page below to browse the archives.

Listening to the Livestream

A little before 10:30 AM you should see a play button (circle with a triangle in it) appear in the box below. Press that play button when it appears, and you should be able to hear the service live! We always start the livestream a few minutes before the service begins, so you may hear some chatter or worship music playing at first. Know that you are with us in Spirit as you worship from wherever you are.

If you come to this page after Sunday worship but before the recorded sermon is posted in its entirety, please come back again! The full recording is posted by noon on Tuesday.

Call to Me

Rodney Clawson

Call to me and I will answer you
Call to me and I will answer you
And tell you great and unsearchable things
And tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know
Call to me

Shout it out now, hallelujah
Shout it out now, hallelujah
Shout it out now, hallelujah
Shout it out now, hallelujah
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Call to me

Oh You Bring

Matt Crocker

Oh you bring hope to the hopeless
And light to those in the darkness
And death to life now I'm alive

Oh you give peace to the restless
And joy to homes that are broken
I see you now, in you I'm found

And you opened the door for me
And you laid down
Your life to set me free
All that I am will serve you Lord

Oh you fill those who are empty
And rescue those in the valley
And through it all you calm my soul

Oh you find me in my weakness
And heal the wounds of my heartache
I worship you in spirit and truth

And you opened my eyes to see
All the wonder and awe of Christ in me
Jesus you're everything I need

All honor
All glory
All praise to you

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Garo Christians | Sadhu Sundar Singh

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, No turning back

The world behind me, the cross before me
The world behind me, the cross before me
The world behind me, the cross before me
No turning back, No turning back

Though none go with me, I still will follow
Though none go with me, I still will follow
Though none go with me, I still will follow
No turning back, No turning back

Doxology

Thomas Ken

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! John Jay welcomed us, and he along with Esther L and Lulú invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Michael M called us into worship. Jerry led us in communal prayer. Carol read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Charles invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided our offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, John Jay, Cindie, Dave, Jason E and Chris T. Chip and Shawn reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Kenny worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.

Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
