Liturgy for wherever you are
Sabbath II | Exodus 16:1-5
August 11, 2024
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. Oh How I Need You (Find You)
David Leonard | Leslie Jordan | Paul Mabury | Stuart Garrard
Lord I find You in the seeking
Lord I find You in the doubt
And to know You is to love You
And to know so little else
(Oh how) I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Lord I find You in the morning
Lord I seek You ev’ryday
Let my life be for Your glory
Woven in Your threads of grace
Light glorious light
I will go where You shine
Break the dawn crack the skies
Make the way right before me
In Your light I will find
All I need, all I need is You
Come Thou Fount
John Wyeth | Robert Robinson
Come Thou Fount of ev'ry blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of God’s redeeming love
Here I raise mine Ebenezer
Hither by thy great help I'm come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wand'ring from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart O take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above
Our Father
Marcus Meier
Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be Your name
Your Kingdom come quickly
Your will be done the same
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Let Heaven come to
Earth as it is in Heaven
Let Heaven come
Let Heaven come, let Heaven come
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the power
Yours is the glory forever, amen
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the power
Yours is the glory forever amen
The Blessing
The Lord bless you
And keep you
Make his face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn his
Face toward you
And give you peace
Amen
Amen
Amen

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Leslie welcomed us and invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Mark M called us into worship. Lindsay led us in communal prayer blessing educators and students. Renee read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Tim invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Mark, Ainsley, Tilli, Chris M, Jason E, Chris B and Paul. Chip reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
