Liturgy for wherever you are
Philippians 1:19-26 | October 13, 2024
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. How Firm a Foundation
Public Domain
How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word
What more can He say than to you He hath said
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled
Fear not I am with thee O be not dismayed
For I am thy God I will still give thee aid
I'll strengthen thee help thee
And cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous omnipotent hand
When through the deep waters I call thee to go
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow
For I will be with thee, thy trouble to bless
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress
When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie
My grace all-sufficient shall be thy supply
The flames shall not hurt thee I only design
Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine
The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not I will not desert to its foes
That soul though all hell should endeavor to shake
I'll never no never no never forsake
Great Are You, Lord
David Leonard | Jason Ingram | Leslie Jordan
You give life You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope You restore ev'ry heart that is broken
Great are You Lord
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
And all the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry these bones will sing
Great are You Lord

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us and she and Cindy invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Grace called us into worship. Chip led us in communal prayer. Navya read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided our offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Jason E, Natalee, Tim, David T, Scott and the FBCP Choir. Chip and John Jay reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Chip blessed the Oaxaca Team and offered up the benediction. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
