Liturgy for wherever you are

Philippians 3:1-11 | November 17, 2024

welcome to WORSHIP

Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. To listen to previous liturgies, you can visit our Soundcloud page below to browse the archives.

Listening to the Livestream

A little before 10:30 AM you should see a play button (circle with a triangle in it) appear in the box below. Press that play button when it appears, and you should be able to hear the service live! We always start the livestream a few minutes before the service begins, so you may hear some chatter or worship music playing at first. Know that you are with us in Spirit as you worship from wherever you are.

If you come to this page after Sunday worship but before the recorded sermon is posted in its entirety, please come back again! The full recording is posted by noon on Tuesday.

You Carried Me

Will Reagan | United Pursuit

Holy, God of our faith
You are welcome in this place
You are welcome in this place

Come fill our hearts up
Come fill our hearts up
With Your presence
Sweet Lord, sustain us

You carry me
You carry me on the wings of love

Praise to the Lord the Almighty

Catherine Winkworth | Christy Nockels | Joachim Neander | Nathan Nockels

Praise to the Lord
The Almighty the King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear now to His temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
Yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth

Hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah

Praise to the Lord
Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy
Here daily attend thee
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee

Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly forever we adore Him

Your Glory | Nothing But the Blood

Leslie Jordan | Robert Lowry

My life is Yours
And my hope is in You only
And my heart You hold
'Cause You made this sinner holy
And holy holy

'Cause Your glory is so beautiful
I fall onto my knees in awe
And the heartbeat of my life
Is to worship in Your light
'Cause Your glory is so beautiful
'Cause Your glory is so beautiful

Glory glory hallelujah
Jesus You are good

What can wash away my sins
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Unknown | Indian Folk Tune

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, No turning back

The world behind me, the cross before me
The world behind me, the cross before me
The world behind me, the cross before me
No turning back, No turning back

Though none go with me, I still will follow
Though none go with me, I still will follow
Though none go with me, I still will follow
No turning back, No turning back

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us, and she and Chip invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Saskia called us into worship. John Jay’s mentor, George, led us in communal prayer. Bea read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Gaby invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, John Jay, Tilli, Chris M, Sam, Rick and Chris T. Shawn and Michael reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Steph worked their technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.

Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
