Liturgy for wherever you are
25th Sunday of Pentecost | November 19th, 2023
Mark 6:7-11
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. Oh Give Thanks
Judith McAllister
Oh give thanks unto the Lord
For God is good, yes God is good
Oh give thanks unto the Lord
For God is good, yes God is good
For God is worthy, worthy.
For God is good, yes God is good
For God is worthy, worthy.
For God is good, yes God is good
The Joy of the Lord
Chris Llewellyn | Ed Cash | Gareth Gilkeson
Though the tears may fall my song will rise
My song will rise to You
Though my heart may fail my song will rise
My song will rise to You
While there’s breath in my lungs
I will praise You Lord
In the dead of night I’ll lift my eyes
I’ll lift my eyes to You
When the waters rise I’ll lift my eyes
I’ll lift my eyes to You
While there’s hope in this heart
I will praise You Lord
The joy of the Lord is my strength
The joy of the Lord is my strength
In the darkness I’ll dance
In the shadows I’ll sing
The joy of the Lord is my strength
When I cannot see You with my eyes
Let faith arise to You
When I cannot feel Your hand in mine
Let faith arise to You
God of mercy and love I will praise You Lord
Oh You shine with glory Lord of light
I feel alive with You
In Your presence now I come alive
I am alive with You
There is strength when I say
I will praise You Lord
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
The joy of the Lord is my strength
I’ll Give Thanks
Housefires
In the morning You sing over me
And I receive Your mercy
Your faithfulness is clear to see
It’s constant every day
Every breath I breathe an invitation
To believe You are creating something good
Though this season doesn’t tell my story
I know You’ll move mountains for me
You’re just that good
So I’ll give thanks to God
When I don’t have enough
’Cause He’s more than enough
And He knows what I need
In the silence I choose to believe
You’re working in the waiting
Though the future isn’t clear to me
I trust You anyway
Why do I worry (3X)
God knows what I need
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Public Domain
Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow
Of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
Summer and winter
And springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars
In their courses above
Join with all nature
In manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness
Mercy and love
Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence
To cheer and to guide
Strength for today
And bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine
With ten thousand beside

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us. Charles and Jessica invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Brian called us into worship. John Jay and Chip welcomed new members. Lindsay led us in communal prayer. Judy read scripture. John Jay and Bill provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Jason E. invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, Warren, John Jay, Jonathan, Natalee, Rick and Chris B. Saskia and Shawn reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Kenny worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
