Liturgy for wherever you are
Easter Sunday

ENGAGE WITH WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” This is a very different kind of work than our pre-pandemic Sunday morning worship, but it is worship all the same. We continue to offer worship on Sundays in various ways. If you are able to come to the building, we host an outdoor worship service in our garage. You can walk or drive—there is seating for everyone who wants one, but you can also stay in your vehicle and listen through your radio. This liturgy is still very much the work of our people, as you will hear each week. Most of the service is live, with recorded messages from our community as well. The audio of the service is streamed below right on this page in real-time starting at 10:30AM. Lastly, if you are not able to make it in person or online at 10:30 am, we will save an archive of the audio for you to listen when you can. Whew! That is a lot of variety. We believe this keeps worship accessible for as many people as possible as we continue to adjust to the pandemic. Each Sunday we will post an offering here, until such a time as it is unnecessary. We pray for that day.
less without you,

Share your prayers
There are a few options for sharing your prayers and gratitudes. Below is a form that will be shared with our team. We also have a prayer wall on this site where we publicly share these prayers with our community. If you wish for your prayer/gratitude to stay private, no problem—just let us know in the form. And if you need to grab a phone call with someone from our Prayer Team, there is a button for that, too.

Opportunity to Bless a Local Youth
If you are looking to spread some love to other youth in the area, there's an opportunity to sponsor a student at Blair High School by sending them some Blair swag and other encouraging gifts to help make the end of the year special for them. This has been a really different kind of senior year, and this is one way to bless them with some extra joy. We have one Blair senior in our youth group at FBCP (yay Thomas!), and we are always grateful for ways to be good neighbors to other youth in Pasadena. Email lindsay@fbcpasadena.com if you are interested and she can get you more information.
Lyrics*
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
Charles Wesley | Samuel Arnold
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once, He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Glorious Day
Jason Ingram | Jonathan Smith | Kristian Stanfill | Sean Curran
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You
('Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name (and) I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
All Creatures of Our God and King
Brent Milligan | David Crowder | St. Francis of Assisi | William Henry Draper
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise Him alleluia
Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in Heav'n along
O praise Him alleluia
Thou rising moon in praise rejoice
Ye lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia
Let all things their Creator bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him alleluia
Praise praise the Father praise the Son
And praise the Spirit three in One
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia
This Little Light of Mine
Harry Dixon Loes
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Credits
We are delighted that you could join us from wherever you are for this special Easter Sunday liturgy! John Jay welcomed us with a familiar refrain. Grace and David offered the resurrection scripture reading. Ken led us in prayer. John Kelly presided over the communion table. John Jay brought us a powerful message, and, of course, returned for the benediction. Mary ushered us into a time of giving while Paul provided our offertory. Leslie, Corrie, and John Jay were our live music makers today while the FBCP Choir shared a recording of their Easter anthem. Leslie oversaw the production while Harriet worked her technical magic to mix this collaborative worship experience. Corrie created the artwork for the follow-along sheet.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
