This is our weekly Scripture study with Pastor John Jay and the pastoral staff. We meet on Thursdays at noon in the Chapel off Marengo Ave. To join this group and receive updates and info, click here.
Our church choir is a crazy fun mix of people, combining all skill levels and all styles of singing. If you are a person who loves to sing, or loves the idea of singing, then come join us. We practice on Wednesday nights at 7pm in the Choir Room. Enter from the Holly St. doors closest to the garage and head up the stairs. For more info and to join the group, click here.
At FBCP we feel called to pass on what we have received. This gift we receive is best understood as blessing, or benediction. This group is for anyone wanting to get involved in the most pressing issues of our day. Homelessness and poverty, mental health, mass migration, ecology, radicalized violence: the struggles are overwhelming. At times this group will focus on learning, at others it will lead the church in actions and practices that support God’s intentions for creation. We call this the Kingdom of Heaven, and we are privileged to help prepare for it. For more info and to join, click here.
This is the lifeblood of our Sunday morning leadership. Being a part of Hospitality is one of the best ways to learn more about our church family while offering joy and welcome to all who join us in worship. Our hope is that all of FBCP would take up the call to radical hospitality, and our official teams show the larger church what that could look like. If you would like to be part of this team rotation, you can email Pastor Gretchen.
Our Prayer Team is a great place for our more contemplative folks to serve. On Sunday mornings this team commits to pray for worship, including being available for people who need personal prayer at the end of worship. During the week this team commits to carry the congregational prayer needs. To learn more, and to get connected to this group, email Pastor Gretchen.
We have Small Groups that meet throughout the Los Angeles area, concentrated in and around Pasadena and Altadena. We are constantly forming new groups as our church grows, so if you are interested in joining (or starting!) a group, let us know. Most groups meet in homes during the week. If you have kids and need some help navigating the options, get in touch and we can see what might work. For more info and to express interest, email Pastor Gretchen.
We are beginning a short-term grief group through the Fall, which will create space for folks to process loss, struggle and pain in a generous atmosphere. Details are still coming together for nights of the week and start date, so to stay informed and register your interest, email Pastor Gretchen and she will keep you in the loop when the group begins.
