Holy Week pilgrimage

We know that in any other year, this week would be punctuated with communal, face-to-face services and gatherings. We would come together—remember together—the culmination of Christ’s ministry. But while the typical, traditional kinds of remembrances still aren’t quite feasible or safe, that just means we’ve had to find news ways to observe Holy Week together.

And that’s how we wound up here, with an embodied prayer practice, walking this pilgrimage—in a way—together. Full disclosure: this is something new for all of us. Still, I believe that no matter how out of the box this might seem, that God will meet you during our short time together as pilgrims—if you lean in earnestly.

Recognizing how much we all want to worship again in our sanctuary, we’ve designed this experience with our beloved church grounds in mind. However, if you are not able to get to the church, you can still “walk” the pilgrimage wherever you feel most comfortable—in your neighborhood, or by sitting in your favorite chair. Regardless where you engage, we pray that you experience the story of Holy Week with your whole being.

So, head to the church or a space near you with a smart phone or a device where you can listen to this webpage. Put your headphones in and prepare your heart to engage and receive. Once you’re ready, press play below and begin your pilgrimage in this familiar and sacred place.
