Singing Together while scattered
Hi Friends,
Thank you for your participation in our Easter service! We are thankful for the creative and safe ways we have been able to sing together in this season. Everything you need to participate in our scattered choir is here on this page.
As you prepare to record, we want to encourage you to carry joy and gratitude into your singing. We want our songs to be a reflection of hope, and your intention and energy reflects in your sung expression. Most importantly, have fun with the process! We have every reason to celebrate for He is risen, He is risen, indeed!
Thank you for sharing your voice in this way. These scattered choirs are such a gift in this time.

glorious day
Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb ’til I met You
Verse 2
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb ’til I met You
Chorus
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Verse 3
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
Chorus
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Bridge
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I’m breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
Chorus
’Cause when You called my name
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day

STEPS TO RECORD
Listen to the audio for your part on this page and practice.
Practice again. 😉
Find two audio devices to use for recording. We recommend you use your computer as a listening device, and your smartphone as a recording device.
On your computer/listening device, plug in headphones and click on the backing track on this page.
Practice again. 😉😬
Find a quiet indoor space to record.
Open a voice memo app on your phone. On iPhones, this is called Voice Memos. On Android, there are lots of simple voice recording apps you can use.
Now you are ready to record. You should have earphones plugged into a computer with the backing track ready to start. You should have a voice memo app open and ready to record on your phone. (See picture below!)
Start the recording app on your phone, then start the backing track (on your computer) to hear in your earphones.
At the beginning of the recording you’ll hear a countdown to a single clap. Please clap! This is how we will line up your audio with the rest of the recordings, and it’s absolutely critical! Then sing when it’s your part. By now with all of the practice, you should know just where to sing with the track! 😃
When you are finished recording your vocals, don’t stop it right away. Allow a few seconds after singing to turn off the recording. You don’t have to keep recording to the end of the helper track. Just a few seconds after your vocals are done.
Listen to your beautiful recording, being extra kind to yourself about the quality. Almost no one likes the way their voice sounds when recorded. Trust that we will bring all of your voices together in a way that honors your singing. Once you confirm that the recording worked, move to the next step…
Submit your recordings to Dropbox using the button below.
Celebrate!!! 🎉
Repeat for the all parts you are singing!
