We made something awesome!
Every year we welcome the season of Advent with our Candlelight Carol Service, and this year would have been the 78th service. But this is the Year of Our Lord 2020, and nothing is ever normal. So we are making an album with our community of musicians, singers and sounds. The album is uniquely local, specific to this time and place while also holding the more universal themes of Advent in its presentation.
This page is a scrapbook of sorts for the work that went into the album. Below you will (soon) find links to buy the album (CD or digital download) to listen to it on various streaming services (once it is all uploaded in a couple of weeks), behind-the-scenes details on each track, and lots of fun images and such. This album is a gift to you and your loved ones—so it’s free! But we have an option to multiply the gift factor with each album. Normally we would take up an offering at our carol service to support the work of Friends in Deed, our local community partners. In lieu of that offering, all proceeds will go to Friends In Deed when folks order an album. It’s just one way to pass on the spirit of generosity this Christmas.

Corrie made a cover for us that is a perfect way of illustrating the collaborative nature of this album. It was a lot of musical conversations going on through each song and movement. By drawing simple line portraits of our team, Corrie captures the humble nature of our brilliant community. Never ones to make a fuss over ourselves, we do tend to gush about one another. So let me gush. This cover art is pretty fantastic, and I am honored to have my face up there with you all!
