Liturgy for wherever you are
Fifth Sunday after Epiphany
February 5, 2023
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ.
Lyrics*
At Your Name
Phil Wickham | Tim Hughes
At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
Lord of all the earth we shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies with endless praise
Endless praise
Yahweh Yahweh
We love to shout Your name oh Lord
At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There is no one like our God
We will sing
In Jesus’ Name
Darlene Zschech | Israel Houghton
God is fighting for us God is on our side
God has overcome yes
God has overcome
We will not be shaken we will not be moved
Jesus You are here
Carrying our burdens covering our shame
God has overcome yes
God has overcome
We will not be shaken we will not be moved
Jesus You are here
I will live I will not die
The resurrection pow'r of Christ
Alive in me and I am free
In Jesus' Name
I will live I will not die
I will declare and lift You high
Christ revealed and I am healed
In Jesus' Name
God is fighting for us pushing back the darkness
Lighting up the Kingdom that cannot be shaken
In the Name of Jesus enemy's defeated
And we will shout it out shout it out

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! John Jay welcomed us. Rich and Kris invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Warren called us into worship. Chip led us in communal prayer. Zahra read scripture. Lindsay provided us with a teaching to feed our souls, and offered us a benediction. Jessica invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, Paul, Warren, Natalee, Rick, Scott, and the FBCP Choir. John Jay reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Harriet worked her technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
