Liturgy for wherever you are
Sixth Sunday of Easter | Matthew 18:21-35
May 5, 2024
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. In the River
Chris Quilala | Joshua Silverberg | Mark Alan Schoolmeesters | Ryan Williams
There is a river
Where goodness flows
There is a fountain
That drowns sorrow
There is an ocean
Deeper than fear
The tide is rising rising
There is a current
Stirring deep inside
It's overflowing
From the heart of God
The flood of heaven
Crashing over us
The tide is rising rising
Bursting bursting
Up from the ground we feel it now
Bursting bursting
Up from the ground we feel it now
We come alive in the river
We come alive in the river
We come alive in the river
We come alive in the river
Break open prison doors
Set all the captives free
Spring up a well spring up a well
Spring up a well in me
Nothing can stop this joy
We're dancing in the streets
Spring up a well spring up a well
Spring up a well in me
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Public Domain
Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow
Of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
Summer and winter
And springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars
In their courses above
Join with all nature
In manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness
Mercy and love
Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence
To cheer and to guide
Strength for today
And bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine
With ten thousand beside
This Little Light of Mine
Harry Dixon Loes | David Wakerley | David Ware
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Ev'rywhere I go
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Even when I'm afraid
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Chip and Hazel welcomed us and invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Grant called us into worship. Staa led us in communal prayer. Chris J read scripture. Lindsay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. John Jay led us in communion. Moop, Lindsay and Mary invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Our musicians this morning were Leslie, John Jay, Dave E, Cindie, Rick, Chris B, Paul and the FBCP Choir. Shawn and Michael M reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Kenny worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
