Liturgy for wherever you are
24th Sunday of Pentecost | November 12th, 2023
Genesis 27:1-8
welcome to WORSHIP
Liturgy is an ancient word for worship that is usually translated as “the work of the people.” You’ll hear the voices of our pastoral staff and our community each week, and we are so grateful that this is the work we get to do together. We prayerfully plan our worship services trusting that the Spirit will use each element to shape us and our desires as we pursue the path of Christ. We Praise You
Brian Johnson | Brandon Lake | Matt Redman | Phil Wickham
Let praise be a weapon that silences the enemy
Let praise be a weapon that conquers all anxiety
Let it rise, let praise arise
We sing your name in the dark and it changes everything
We sing with all we are and we claim your victory
Let it rise, let praise arise
We’ll see You break down every wall
We’ll watch the giants fall
For fear cannot survive when we praise You
The God of breakthrough’s on our side
Forever lift Him high
With all creation cry, God we praise You
Let faith be the song that overcomes the raging sea
Let faith be the song that calms the storm inside of me
Let it rise, let faith arise
This is what living looks like
This is what freedom feels like
This is what heaven sounds like
We praise You, we praise You
Glorious Day
Jason Ingram | Jonathan Smith | Kristian Stanfill | Sean Curran
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You
You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
Come Ye Sinners
Joseph Hart
Come ye sinners, poor and needy
Weak and wounded sick and sore
Jesus ready stands to save you
Full of pity love and power
Come ye thirsty come and welcome
God’s free bounty glorify
True belief and true repentance
Every grace that brings you nigh
I will arise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
In the arms of my dear Savior
Oh there are ten thousand charms
Come ye weary heavy laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry till you're better
You will never come at all
Let not conscience make you linger
Not of fitness fondly dream
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him

Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heav'nly host;

What a wonderful group of friends we had for this week’s service! Lindsay welcomed us and she and Nicole I-H invited us into a communal practice of gratitude. Gaby called us into worship. Chip along with Nori, Tim and Nora Elisabet shared about God’s goodness on their trip to Oaxaca. Kris offered a prayer. Janessa read scripture. John Jay provided us with a teaching and offered up the benediction. Dannie invited us into a time of generosity through our offering. Paul provided our offertory. Our other musicians this morning were Leslie, Warren, Judah, Rick, Scott and the FBCP Choir. Mady and Chip reminded us of the different ways we are invited to participate in communal life together. Leslie oversaw the production while Kenny worked his technical magic to mix this special collaborative worship experience.
Much love from your church family at FBC Pasadena.
